Supplementation of luteal phase during assisted reproductive technology (ART) cycles in women. Threatened miscarriage or prevention of habitual miscarriage due to luteal phase deficiency up to 12th wk of pregnancy. Preterm labour.
Vag Inserted deep into the vagina. Supplementation of luteal phase during ART cycles 600 mg daily in 3 divided doses from the day of embryo transfer until at least 7th wk of pregnancy & not later than 12th wk of pregnancy. Threatened miscarriage or prevention of habitual miscarriage due to luteal phase insufficiency 200-400 mg daily in 2 divided doses up until 12th wk of pregnancy. Preterm labour Women w/ history of preterm labour 100 mg daily until 36thwk of pregnancy, cervix shorter than 15 mm detected at 22-26 wk 200 mg daily until 36th wk of pregnancy.
Hypersensitivity reactions (urticarial & anaphylactic shock in hypersensitive patients). Not suitable as contraceptive. Discontinue treatment upon diagnosis of missed abortion. Avoid use in patients w/ peanut allergy. May reveal gravidic cholestasis upon use beyond 1st trimester of pregnancy. Pregnancy. Not indicated during lactation. Not to be used in paed & elderly.
